Susan White grew up on the prairies, then moved to Vancouver Island in 2015.
She completed her foundation year in Fine Art at University of Manitoba. She has taken many classes and workshops since then but is mainly self-taught.
Susan has experimented with many types of artistic expression over time, including a long stint as a self-employed jewellery designer. She worked exclusively in soft pastel for eight years, enjoying the expressive potential of this medium. Recently she has branched out into mono printing and collage, enjoying the unpredictability of this method of working. Her inspiration is the stunning natural beauty all around her on the island. Susan was juried into Signature Membership (SFCA) with the Federation of Canadian Artists in 2025. She is a board member of Pastel Artists Canada and was awarded Master Pastelist Signature Designation (MPAC) in 2023. She is a member of DeCosmos art group in the Oceanside area. Her work has garnered several awards and is held in international collections. She exhibits her work at the Federation Gallery in Vancouver and at the Bayside Resort gallery in Parksville.
