Community Partner: Bayside Resort
240 Dogwood St, Parksville, BC V9P 1E1
Reception, Restaurant & Lounge, and Guest Room Exhibits
The Oceanside Community Arts Council, and the McMillan Arts Centre's first Curatorial Program has created a partnership with Island Arts Magazine, Susan Schaefer, and Bayside Resort in Parksville, BC.
The Bayside is a cherished community partner that shares our passion for supporting local artists and making art accessible to all.
Through this partnership, Bayside acts as a satellite gallery for the MAC, showcasing the work of Vancouver Island artists throughout their resort spaces — from the lobby and restaurant to the hallways and guest rooms. This initiative offers artists the opportunity to reach a wider audience, while giving resort guests an inspiring and ever-changing art experience.
Together, in partnership with Island Arts Magazine, we’ve also launched a Self-Guided Art Tour Kiosk in the resort lobby, where each artwork is tagged with a QR code linking to artist bios, artwork details, and purchase options — a truly modern and interactive gallery experience.
We’re proud of this meaningful collaboration that brings community, creativity, and hospitality together under one roof.

Satellite Gallery: Brazen Poppy Bakery & Restaurant
The Brazen Poppy Bakery Café is proud to serve as a satellite gallery for the McMillan Arts Centre, bringing local and regional art into a lively, everyday setting. Set among the warmth of fresh baking, coffee, and conversation, rotating exhibitions showcase the work of Island artists in a space where creativity and community naturally meet. It’s art you can linger with—over breakfast, lunch, or a cup of coffee—extending the reach of the MAC beyond its walls and into the heart of Parksville’s daily life.
