Born in Vancouver BC.
My first experience as an artist was self-taught at a very young age. Knowing that I needed to have formal art education I en rolled in a night class for fine arts at University of BC. and achieved first class standing. From there, I enrolled full-time at Emily Carr College of Art and design starting at second year and graduating with honours in painting and printmaking graduating in 1985 as a mature student.
Acrylic and oil are my preferred mediums. With a strong foundation in drawing and representation, my work evolved towards semi-abstract. I have had several exhibits of my work in Vancouver in the past and my work has gone to New York, Australia, Ireland and across Canada. Exhibits in Parksville and Qualicum Beach have been the first to show my work on Vancouver island. I came to Vancouver Island in 2015 where I have had so much inspiration for my intuitive paintings.
Teaching and managing a community art centre and having my own gallery in White Rock have also taught me more knowledge of the art world.
