Margery was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Always the artist and creating throughout her childhood, her dream was to attend Art School. So in fulfilling one of many dreams, she graduated from the University of Manitoba School of Art where she received her B.F.A. (Bachelor or Fine Arts) and then a Bachelor of Education degree.
In 2013 Margery took an early retirement after working as a high school teacher for 23 years. She then relocated to Vancouver Island to live the life of a full time artist.
Margery is actively involved with the McMillan Arts Centre in Parksville, where she holds the position of ‘Program Coordinator’ for the School for the Creative Arts, instructs painting classes, works with the Gallery Committee, organizes the Resident Artists as well as being an artist in residence herself.
Margery is a representational oil painter inspired by nature, light, colour and reflection that she uses to create colourful, bold, dynamic and magical works of art.
She is also an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
Her work can be seen at the McMillan Arts Centre, Qualicum art Supplies and Gallery, The Bayside Resort, and in various locations on Vancouver Island throughout the year.
