Class Description: Celebrate the character of trees in The Art of Tree Portraits. Inspired by our island’s wonderfully individual trees, you’ll create a striking portrait of a tree shaped by wind, water, and time. Using watercolor, pencil, and black fine liner, you’ll follow simple steps to sketch expressive forms and details from selected images. Optional acrylic accents add depth and personality. Practice on watercolor paper, then complete a 10”x20” canvas portrait ready to hang. All materials, including the prepared canvas base, are provided. Perfect for artists eager to explore sketching, ink, watercolor, and mixed media in one inspiring workshop.
Instructor Bio: Born in Poland, Dorota Goede studied Architecture before immigrating to Canada in 1981. She graduated from Architectural Technology and completed her Bachelor of Architecture Degree at University of Toronto in 1989. Currently retired Architecture Professor she still loves learning and sharing knowledge by delivering professional art classes at the Nanoose Place, MAC and TOSH, often fundraising for local charities. Dorota wishes to bring beauty and color into people’s lives.
