July Beachfest Opening Concert  &

August Beachfest ROCKS!

Parking

All parking areas in Parksville Community Park are open to the public and may be utilized on a first-come first-served basis. Concert patrons may access the public parking lots within the park; however, we anticipate these lots will fill up quickly. We encourage festival attendees to consider alternatives like parking off-site and walking to the theatre. For those requiring accessible parking there are a limited number of designated accessible spaces available in the park. SPR Traffic Services will be on site to assist with orderly parking. Any vehicles parked on areas outside of designated parking lots may be towed. (see city parking lots diagram)

General Festival Seating

Festival attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on. (a limited number of chairs are available to rent. $5 per day).

Once through the gate, ushers will be available to guide attendees in the placement of their chairs/blankets in rows. This will help maximize seating in the festival area and improve everyone’s concert experience. All attendees will be issued a wristband which will allow them to come and go throughout the day.  Attendees’ chairs/blankets may be left for a short time within the same day but must be removed when leaving for the day. Personal belongings are the responsibility of attendees.

Festival Entry Gates & Box Office

Wristbands are available for pick up BEFORE the day of the events at the McMillan Arts Centre, only by the original purchaser of the tickets (due to potential time-consuming logistics, we do not make arrangements for other people to pick up your tickets).  On event days - tickets can ONLY be picked up at the event GATE Box Office.

These wristbands are required for entry to the concert venue. Each day has its own specific colour and day denoted in a box printed on your wristband. Please ensure you arrive with the proper coloured wristband. If you have paid for tickets but not picked up your wristband at the McMillan Arts Centre beforehand, they may be picked up at the Box Office. Children 12 and under accompanied by a paid adult are admitted free of charge and do not require a wristband.

Gates will be open each day 1.5 hours before the first scheduled performance. At the Box Office you can purchase tickets or pick up your wristbands for your online orders.

Food Trucks and Washrooms

Food trucks and portable washrooms will be located within the fenced festival area and will only be accessible to patrons with festival wrist bands/tickets. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets as well.

Weather

We don’t expect rain but please dress and prepare accordingly for weather conditions. Tents are not provided for festival attendees. Please do not erect tents or umbrellas that may obstruct views of other attendees.

First Aid

First Aid with qualified personnel and equipment will be provided.

Garbage & Recycling

Garbage and recycling containers will be located throughout the concert area. Kindly assist our festival volunteers by placing your waste in the proper receptacles and helping us to keep the area clean and safe for everyone.

Liquor Service

The Parksville Beach Festival Society is planning for liquor service provision at these events. Please note that concert goers are not allowed to bring alcohol or any other liquids into the venue and our team will screen for this at the entrance gate. Any prohibited items, including outside liquor, will be confiscated. As free potable water will be available on-site attendees may however bring empty water bottles. There will be a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments available to purchase. We appreciate your cooperation.

Smoking & Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not allowed within the festival venue. Please exit the concert venue if you wish to smoke or vape and please keep in mind the extreme drought conditions.

Beverage Containers

Only non-breakable cups may be used for beverages. For safety reasons, glass containers are not permitted.

Beach Balls

Please do not bring beach balls to the festival.  We have received several complaints that it hurts when unexpectedly hit by a beach ball. We were also made aware recently that a musician at another festival received injuries when a beach ball knocked his microphone into his face.

Dogs

Dogs will be not allowed in the concert area, however service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome.

Ravenhill Road Access

Ravenhill Road, which parallels the concert area, will be closed except for emergency vehicles and restricted traffic only (e.g. bands & food trucks).
