The Parksville Beach Festival Society is thrilled to announce that legendary Canadian rock band April Wine will headline the festival’s Opening Weekend Concert on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Parksville Outdoor Theatre in the beautiful Parksville Community Park. 

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, legendary Canadian rock band April Wine takes the stage at the Parksville Outdoor Theatre to launch the 2026 Parksville Beach Festival in style.

Presented by Van-Roc Interiors, this highly anticipated concert kicks off one of Vancouver Island’s most beloved summer festivals and promises an unforgettable night of classic Canadian rock. Victoria’s own The Tumblin' Dice will open the show. Known as BC’s premier Country Music Tribute Band, they’ll bring high energy to get the crowd warmed up playing a selection of both Country and Rock.

Formed in 1969 and originally based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, April Wine rose to international prominence throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Over the course of their remarkable career, the band has released more than 20 albums, sold over 20 million records worldwide and earned a lasting place in Canadian music history. 

April Wine’s extensive catalogue includes multiple gold and platinum-selling albums and timeless rock anthems such as Roller, I Like to Rock, You Could Have Been a Lady and the iconic power ballad Just Between You and Me. That song made April Wine the first Canadian band to appear on MTV, helping cement their international success. 

The band has received a combined 11 Juno Award nominations across categories including Group of the Year, Album of the Year and Best-Selling Single. In recognition of their enduring influence, April Wine was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2010, along with receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award for their contribution to Canadian music history.

The Opening Weekend Concert featuring April Wine marks the official start of the 2026 Parksville Beach Festival, a celebration of art, music and family fun set against the stunning backdrop of Parksville’s waterfront.
