Wednesday Artists in Residence

 – Margie Davidson –

As a quilt artist and surface designer, Margie Davidson’s love of colour is joyfully expressed through the variety of techniques she uses to add colour to cloth. She enjoys painting, sunprinting, and blockprinting as well as cooking up colour with natural dyes. Margie takes great pleasure incorporating this coloured cloth into her artwork, along with some stitching by hand or machine. Her award-winning quilts have been exhibited in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the United States.

 – Deborah Nicol –

An emerging artist, Deborah Nicol works primarily in Acrylics. Deb started her artistic endeavours with pencil portraits, quickly moving into Oil Pastels and Oils and expanding into landscapes and paintings of children. The art slowed as her family grew but she continued with pencil sketches of many subjects. In recent years she has moved into Acrylics and finding her true passion in Abstract venues.  She uses many colours that are emotive of the sea, the shore and the woods. She is influenced by her surroundings, family and friends. The thoughts and feeling of the artist appear in the work and hope to strike a chord with the viewer.

Deborah will be at the MAC Wednesday mornings.
