Our goal is to have fun through creative expression while learning some basic art elements, art principles and art history.

Creative Kids Summer 2024 program is here!

Bigger and better than ever!  This summer we have 30 totally different classes to choose from; both new ones, and favourites  PLUS:  MAC Art Camp – a whole week to get creative and make some incredible art!

Creative Kids classes will take place in our Community Art Garden 

Cost $30/class – all materials included

MAC ART CAMP:

Mon-Fri (10 am-3 pm)

August `12 – 16

We will be: making bee houses, creating our own trqading cards, making a rubber boot planter with sunflowers, having a fun scavenger hunt in the MAC Community Garaden, drawing, chalk art, painting, fruit still life painting & fruit salad, beach walks, face painting and SO MUCH MORE!

MAC Art Camp is only $295 with all supplies included

About our Creative Kids Instructor:  

Megan Riera  moved to Europe from Qualicum Beach in 1999, and recently returned to her hometown.

Whilst living in the UK, she obtained a first class BA Hons degree in Design for Moving Image and has had a career spanning several creative disciplines; motion design, graphic design and calligraphy. Most recently Megan has been running children’s art workshops, which have introduced young people to many artistic techniques and artists.

About our Creative Kids Program Coordinator: Alex Carr

Alex Carr is an artist and illustrator living in Parksville BC. She loves exploring different mediums and styles, for example pencil drawing, digital illustration, acrylic painting and more. She likes to have fun with her work and express the beauty of the natural world. She is interested in a variety of subjects; be it plants, people or forest, there is always something interesting to draw or paint.
