In this 2-day workshop the instructor, Cindy Mawle, will be providing a local Vancouver Island scene as a reference to allow everyone to start “on the same page”. Cindy will discuss how she decides on the layout of the composition and will feature step by step layering techniques to achieve the effects needed to carry off the painting. Participants are encouraged to exercise their naturally ingrained style along with the unfamiliar techniques as they move along, limiting the use of the reference as only a starting point and for gathering clues along the way. They will need to bring their own paint and supplies and a list will be provided upon registration. Different experience levels are welcome but having some acrylic painting experience is needed.

As a self-educated painter, Cindy has over 30 years of experience working through workshops, different styles, mediums and techniques. She has gathered a wealth of knowledge in her passionate journey that she is excited to pass along. “It’s like opening a treasure chest full of painting tidbits when I teach, it never ceases to amaze me how much is tucked away in there!”

Cindy’s years of teaching home studio based art classes for almost a decade in the 90’s add to her experience along with the time she has been concentrating on the Vancouver Island land/seascapes that surround her.
