Mary comes from a creative Maritime family of quilters, rug hooking, knitting and sewing handcrafters. She grew up in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, and attended Mt. Allison University in the Fine Arts Faculty. After becoming a Registered Nurse and living in Montreal for six years she moved to Vancouver and spent the following years living between the lower mainland and Calgary, moving to Parksville in 2001.
Here in Parksville, Mary’s art evolved into what it is today. Painting primarily in acrylic, she is inspired by the glorious scenery surrounding her, and loves her garden which provides subject matter for her florals. She teaches workshops in a variety of paint media, and is Past President and an active member of the DeCosmos Art Society, and former member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. She has travelled extensively across Canada, USA, Great Britain, Europe, Israel and South Africa.
