Pastels with Joan Larson: an Art Gems Workshop
Welcome to world of Soft Pastels. We will explore the dynamic range of possibilities with this marvellous medium.
Learn basic layering and application techniques and how to let your paper work for you. We will also work with underpainting techniques, making your own sanded paper and how multiple layers of pastel can make your paintings glow.
This will be an action packed 4 hours with demos and hands on practice to add to your enjoyment of soft pastels and their endless potential.

About the Instructor: Joan is a professional artist that has worked predominately in soft pastels. In recent years her works have included a series of pastel paintings of “The Musical Ride” and “The Wild Horses of Sable Island.” After a lifetime working with soft pastels, Joan still sees the potential for unlimited expression when working in this exquisite medium.
