New this summer – Kid Care!
Register your Creative Kid for both AM and PM classes, and child minding is available during the lunch break (12-1). Cost is $10 cash; please provide a lunch and bottle of water.
Creative Kids Instructor: Megan Riera
Megan moved to Europe from Qualicum Beach in 1999, and recently returned to her hometown. Whilst living in the UK, she obtained a first class BA Hons degree in Design for Moving Image and has had a career spanning several creative disciplines; motion design, graphic design and calligraphy. Most recently Megan has been running children’s art workshops, which have introduced young people to many artistic techniques and artist.

What’s Creative Kids all About?
Our goal is to have fun through creative expression while learning some basic art elements, art principles and art history.
This summer we have 30 totally different classes to choose from; both new ones, and favourites PLUS: MAC Art Camp – a whole week to get creative and make some incredible art!

Tues July 16 AM Class – Sunset Collage Scene
Using cut paper we are making an incredible sunset scene.
Special Guest Instructor: Adina Barugolo
A graduate from VIU in Applied Arts and Interior Design, Adina holds a lifelong passion for art. She uses bold colours to capture the beauty of the island in acrylics and watercolours and hopes to inspire others to create! Adina also teaches Collage classes for our adult Art Bites program.
Tues July 16 PM Class – Contour Lines Galore
We are working on drawing lines and having fun with faces.
Wed July 17 AM – What’s the Point?-illism
Using dots, we will create a landscape artwork and learn a little about how colour works at the same time.
Wed July 18 PM – Day at the Beach
We are making a textured beach scene using tissue paper, Mod Podge, sand, and paint. Then we complete the whole scene with a seashell frame. The perfect reminder of a day at the beach.
Thu July 18 AM: Spill the Ink
Let’s have fun using our imagination! What can an ink blob turn into?
Thu July 18 PM – Animal Print and Pattern
A tiger in the jungle or a zebra in the Serengeti? Let’s get into some pattern play..
