About Art Bites:
Art Bites is a fun way to try out all different kinds of art mediums without investing a lot of time and money. Our instructors are welcoming and encourage everyone to ‘just have’ fun creating art. Try something you’ve always wondered about, or take a class with a friend or family member just for fun! Our classes run from Sept-Dec in the fall and Jan-Jun in the spring. Explore all our current Art Bites offerings here.
Ready for more? Try our Art Gems workshops and explore techniques and mediums in a more in-depth workshop setting. No experience necessary; all supplies included.
Abstract Acrylics with Deborah Nicol

About the Instructor: Deborah Nicol is a versatile artist who works in a variety of mediums, and primarily in Acrylics. Deb started her artistic endeavors with pencil portraits, quickly moving into Oil Pastels and Oils and expanding into landscapes and paintings of children. In recent years she has moved into Acrylics and finding her true passion in Abstract venues.

Art Bites – Sketch and Draw with Colour with Dorota Goede

If you have always liked crayons and want to ease into arts with color, or you want to improve your colored pencils skills, this class is for you! We will talk about best materials, color selection, layering, blending, and smoothing tools as well as protecting and presenting your work completed with this fascinating medium. After demonstrations you will complete practical techniques and warmups to be followed with more complex live studio project to proudly take home.
About the Instructor: Born in, Poland, Dorota studied Architecture before immigrating to Canada in 1981. She graduated with Honors from Architectural Technology Program in 1983 and completed her Bachelor of Architecture Degree at University of Toronto in 1989. Dorota received extensive education in drawing, completed courses in watercolors from Dundas Valley School of Art, and recently attended number of workshops with prominent artists. She loves learning and, with her 30 yrs teaching experience, is now delivering professional art classes as well as fundraising for local charities. She hopes to bring color and beauty into people’s lives.

Art Bites – Spring Plein Air at Milner Gardens

Celebrate the start of summer with us in this seasonal Art Bites Plein Air class.
One of the gems in the Oceanside area, Milner Gardens is home to 28 hectares of woodland and gardens, as well as the historic Milner House and Camellia Tea Room. So many scenes to paint!
As with all of our Plein Air classes, all materials will be provided. You just need to bring hat, sunscreen, water bottle (for you), water and container for painting, and a folding chair. (Admission to Milner Gardens will also be covered by the MAC,)
About the Instructor: Since 1973, Peggy has experienced training in commercial design, illustration and painting through the Federation of Canadian Artists workshops and international events such as the famous Fabriano in Aquarello, Italy in 2015. She has attended and instructed workshops in Fabriano Italy, Spain, Croatia, Japan and beyond. She is a member and instructor with the International Watercolor Society and VAWAA (Vacation With An Artist) international organization.
