Saturday Afternoon Tea Dance Series

Jazzville Promotions and the MacMillan Arts Centre are delighted to launch the 1st Annual Saturday afternoon Tea Dance series at the MAC. The style of music will be primarily Big Band and Sinatra era
music along with tunes from the 60’s and 60’s era. All dances and will be performed by live bands with aa 2:00-4:00’ish scenario and performed in the Concert Gallery.

We hope the series captures the interest of the 60+ fan and or dancer, who love the music but are at the age where attending an evening performance on a dark/rainy fall/winter evening is out of the question.

The series will run monthly for 7 months from September to March with all performances on the 2nd Saturday of each month

Kicking off the series is the 19 person “Georgia Strait Big Band Dance Band” with an awesome repertoire of memorable tunes featuring Ellington, Waltz, Swing, Latin and other memorable tunes. The Big Band is under the exceptional Direction of Greg Bush, Professor of Jazz Studies at Vancouver Island University.

Tea Service – Will be a feature of the dances and served in the separate reception room. Proceeds from the Tea service will be in support of the Oceanside Chapter of the group supporting Ovarian Cancer Research.

Tickets are $20 and on sale now online and at the MAC Office.
