Here’s what we’re working on for this summer:
We are encouraging our Oceanside Community to shop local, and support our local artists this summer as we present the wonderful artwork featuring local artists Kelly Corbett, Carla Flegel, Brian Middleton, Margery Blom, William Allen, Pattiann Withapea and celebrated Vancouver Island artist Brian Scott, who will also be presenting an exclusive workshop in August courtesy of the Island Arts Magazine.
Our Studio will be busy with the MAC’s Summer Art Bites Program Sundays from 1-3 pm, July 5 – August 16
We are delighted to offer you an opportunity to participate in two community arts experiences. WITH GLOWING HEARTS opening June 18th. Bring your piece of ‘heart work’ to the MAC and help us fill the entranceway with symbolic message of hope, love and support, celebrating our Oceanside Community. We invite anyone who wishes to create their own version of a heart image to join this ‘heartfelt’ initiative. More information here.
Our Digital Media Gallery will present SURFACING, a multimedia digital experience featuring submissions from you, our Oceanside Community members – images that explore the theme of surfacing: from isolation, loss, disconnection to renewal, opening, hope. We invite all of you to send us your digital image to be included in this organic and ever-changing exhibit telling our story together. This digital, multi-media exhibit will run in our Cloakroom Media Gallery all summer long and beyond. At this time, we announce our CALL OUT to our Oceanside community to send us their digital images (no larger than 1MB) to be included in our SURFACING exhibit. More details will follow shortly.
For those visiting the MAC: Visitors to the exhibits and gift shop at the MAC will need to reserve online to book their MAC experience. Click here to reserve your spot. We are scheduling half-hour visiting blocks between 11 am and 3 pm. The first reservation will be taken for 11 am and the last reservation will be taken for 3:30 pm.
