About Art Bites:

Art Bites is a fun way to try out all different kinds of art mediums without investing a lot of time and money.  Our instructors are welcoming and encourage everyone to ‘just have’ fun creating art.  Try something you’ve always wondered about, or take a class with a friend or family member just for fun!  Our classes run from Sept-Dec in the fall and Jan-Jun in the spring.  Our full Art Bites Fall Schedule is available here.

Ready for more?  Try our Monday Art Gems workshops and enjoy a full 4 hours to explore new techniques and mediums with a variety of instructors, both familiar and new. No experience necessary and all materials supplied.

Nov 12 – Quick Draw Watercolours with Carla Flegel

So many are spooked by the thought of drawing the subject you want to paint.  With this method it is easy to adjust some of the shapes as you add layers of paint and inking to the drawing.  We will practice a few simple scenes, so you are confident using the techniques.  NO EXPERIENCE with drawing or using watercolour is necessary.

About the Instructor: Carla Flegel has explored oils, acrylics and has recently settled on watercolour as her medium of choice.  She loves the unpredictability as water, paint and paper meet, and how it paints itself if you let it.

Nov 19 – Painting with Tombows – Carla Flegel

Tombow Dual Brush Pens have a water-soluble medium in them that allows you to get similar results as a watercolor painting.  We will also use the brush pen to learn a simple brush script using two simple alphabets that will make you look like a pro when we make our Christmas card using these Tombow pens.
