IceBear:  Dreams of a Dreamer

IceBear has been painting and sculpting for over 50 years.  After a successful career as a commercial artist, he began to pursue his drive to create fine art.  His art has evolved from the representational and spiritual (drawing from his North American Heritage) to today’s expression in the abstract.

His large canvasses in acrylic evoke an immediate emotional and intellectual response.  Beyond their artistic elements of form, light, colour, texture, dimension – and movement – they are ever-stimulating with a profound impact to be appreciated over the years.

OPENING EXHIBIT RECEPTION:

SATURDAY, JUNE 3, 2017,  1-3pm

This solo exhibition at the MacMillan Arts Centre runs May 30 to June 30. There will also be an exclusive preview for IceBear collectors on June 2, and the opening reception will be a public open house with a brief artist’s talk.

Tickets available online and at the MAC

“You definitely captured and expressed the sounds of nature such as the wild animals and the howling wind through your musical interpretations. I find it difficult to illustrate the relationship of music to nature. I have studied music in Europe and Japan, but never have I experienced such music as your performance.”
– Ilsa Greenwold, Instructor – Juliard School of Music

“Ed Peekeekoot was absolutely the star of our show. His stunning talent as a multi-instrumentalist, his easy and infectious humour and demeanor and his skills as a teacher in his carving workshops combined to make him a key component in our success. Ed’s CDs sold out and people are asking where to get more!”

– Lionel Conant, Artistic Director – Cottonwood Festival, Fort St.James, BC
