Italic Lettering Image-2Learn a new skill this Fall in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. No previous skill required. Short equipment list and small class size so plenty of personal help.  Judi Hopewell is both an artist and an accomplished calligrapher and is an avid promoter of the vanishing skill of hand lettering.

What you need to know

Italic Lettering ImageYou will only need to bring a stack of computer paper, a ruler and an orange cap Parallel pen and a carpenter’s pencil. If you register early your instructor can order pens and pencils for you at $15 for both.  You will cover both upper and lower case Italic letters in detail and try out some fun applications with your new skill.  Great handouts for practice at home and oodles of ideas for future projects.


Register early as space is limited.

Level 1: September 7, 14, 21 from 1-4

three x 3-hour sessions @$45.  

Level 2:  October 5, 12, 19 from 1-4 pm

three x 3-hour sessions @$45.

Judi HopewellJudi is a life long calligrapher and artist.  She is member of the International Association of Master Penmen and Teachers of Handwriting and the Warmland Calligraphers Guild in Duncan and travels extensively to take classes from some of the best calligraphers in the world at the annual International Calligraphy conferences.   She is also a part of the Nanaimo  Group of Artists, is a portrait artist and loves all aspects of art and experimentation and teaches art and calligraphy in her home.   Life long learning is her mantra for staying young.  She is a fun person who loves to help people learn and master the vanishing skill of hand lettering. All supplies can be purchased at Qualicum Art Supply.  Don’t go buy a calligraphy kit – yet.
