Doroni is a glass artist living on Vancouver Island. Coming from an urban environment in Montreal, she became totally captivated by the rich, lush landscape of the West Coast. Translating the vibrancy of the natural world into glass art is her passion with inspiration coming from the movements and energy reflected in the forests, ocean waves, and foliage around us.
The creation of fused and cast glass involves the merging of artistry, chemistry, and physics. The entire process for a single completed piece will take many days of firing until it is ready – each firing process can take up to 12 to 20 hours or more. In the last phase, the glass is cold worked to grind, smooth, file and finish before it is ready for display.
Doroni’s glass art is shown at Butchart Gardens as well as Hawaii.
